MULTIPLE armed police units cordoned off roads after a shooting around the Stamford Hill Estates in London last night, it has been reported
Armed police have put the scene on 'lockdown'
A 25-year-old man is in a stable condition in hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police attended the scene at 21.39 after reports of gunshots heard on Lynmouth Road.
They subsequently attended a north London hospital after being informed that the man had self-presented himself with gunshot injuries.
It is not currently known how many people were involved in the incident but no arrests have been made.
A Met Police spokesman said they were ”now carrying out an investigation”.
He also added the incident was not believed to be linked to a stabbing in Stoke Newington which took place just hour before.
Police attended an incident in the area after a street brawl broke out with witnesses reportedly hearing gunshots.
A 19-year-old man is fighting for his life in hospital.
Following the incidents Hackney Police released a statement on Twitter thanking the communities for their understanding during the disruptions.
They said: “Thanks to the communities of Stoke Newington & Stamford Hill for your cooperation, patience & understanding whilst police have dealt with several serious incidents.
“We try to balance saving life & investigating crime with minimising community disruption.”
