Brexit was being discussed by the BBC Radio 4 Any Questions? panel when the presenter got his name mixed up.
Discussing what giving parliament a “meaningful vote” on the final Brexit deal meant, Dimbleby made the slip up.
He said: “Tim Wetherspoon. Sorry, Tim Wetherspoon, Tim Martin. There we were Wetherspoon-ing away.”
But the Wetherspoon boss did not take the mishap lying down and hit back by purposely calling the host by his brother’s name. David Dimbleby is also a BBC presenter.

To applause and claps, he said: “That’s ok, David.”
Dimbleby then quickly tried to move things on.
He said: “On your way.”
On the same show, Mr Martin said Spain must listen to Catalonia on independence as the “will of the people” needed to prevail.
He added Catalonia should not have received “heavy-handed” treatment from Spain in the wake of the independence vote.
Mr Martin said the final decision was “up to the Catalonian people”.
He said: “I don’t think in the modern world if you get a people such as the Catalonians saying they want to sucede from Spain, that you can go in there in a heavy-handed way, it never works.
“It’s a very emotional thing as the UK’s seen over Brexit, for example.”
