Davina McCall leads Alzheimer’s walk for ‘inspirational’ dad
DAVINA McCall fought back the tears yesterday as she joined 2,500 people in a walk to raise awareness of dementia.

The TV star cut the ribbon before taking part in the Brighton event with her mother Gaby and father Andrew, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s last year aged 73.
Inspired by her father, Davina has teamed up with Alzheimer’s Society to boost the Memory Walk fundraising campaign which is raising money to improve care, fund research and create lasting change for people affected by dementia.
Each autumn around 110,000 people take part in walks organised around the country.

He is just about the most inspirational man I have ever met and dad tries to pass that positive attitude on to other people.
Davina, 49, told how it was an emotional occasion – her grandmother Pippy battles the disease too.
“Everyone is here walking for someone,” she said.
“Dad has Alzheimer’s and he is dealing with it all in the most positive way.
"He is just about the most inspirational man I have ever met and dad tries to pass that positive attitude on to other people. “

We’re all here for someone we love and what is so special is that everyone is uniting today for them and raising funds, all while having a good time.”
She added: “I love this walk. We came and did it last year as a family to support my dad and it’s amazing to be doing it all together again."
