FORMER Chancellor George Osborne has taken on his seventh job since leaving politics – this time at an American university.

Mr Osborne, who stepped down from Parliament at June’s general election, will be a visiting fellow at Stanford University in California.
He is already editor of London’s Evening Standard, an adviser to investment management firm BlackRock, chairman of the Northern Powerhouse Partnership, a fellow at US think tank the McCain Institute and an unpaid honorary professor of economics at the University of Manchester.
He is also paid for after-dinner speeches around the world for the Washington Speakers’ Bureau.
Mr Osborne will not be paid for the new role
It is understood that Mr Osborne will not be paid for the new role but will receive a stipend for travel, accommodation and subsistence when visiting.
He said: “Stanford is at the heart of some of the most exciting changes in our world.
“I hope I can bring my experience to help students to navigate these changes.”
