A LOTTERY ticket worth £1million sat in its owner’s wallet for nearly a month before he realised what it was worth.
A groundsman from Sudbury is celebrating after scooping a £1M UK prize from the EuroMillions
Martin Crighton, 46, forgot to check his Euromillions UK Millionaire Maker ticket for the draw on August 15 after he bought it from a Londis store in Hadleigh, Suffolk.
He finally dug out it out after reading about an unclaimed lottery prize in his area – and found he was the winner.
The self-employed gardener, who lives in a rented house in Boxford, Suffolk, plans to splash out on a new home and holidays.

But he said he will not give up his job. Martin said: “I love my job and the people I work for have become really good friends so I have no plans to stop working.”
Pub landlord Shaun Davis, 44, who helped Martin confirm his win, said: “You just don’t expect it to happen to one of your regulars but it could not have happened to a nicer bloke.”
