‘Explosion’ heard at Manchester cafe as locals panic after May's horrific terror attack
A LOUD explosion heard in Manchester has caused panic among locals across the city.
The explosion is believed to have been caused by a firework
The explosion is believed to have originated in a cafe in Salford at roughly 12.20am.
While officials are yet to confirm the cause of the blast, locals have claimed it was caused by a firework being placed underneath the cafe's shutters.
Some claimed they could hear the explosion from as far away as South Manchester, with the incident causing widespread concern as firefighters raced to the scene.
No one is believed to have been harmed in the incident.

Locals expressed their panic online with fears heightened after the Manchester Arena terror attack that rocked the nation in May.
One said on twitter: “Just heard a massive bang again in Manchester it'sope its not another attack"
Another added: “Just been woken by the loudest bang in Manchester. Did anyone else hear it? Not again please!"
May's terror attack caused outrage across the country and the world after vile terrorist Salman Abedi detonated a suicide bomb at an Ariana Grande concert, killing 23 men women and children.
Manchester Arena was reopened on Saturday, featuring heartfelt performances from Noel Galagher and impassioned local poet Tony Walsh amid increased security.
