A MAN has admitted the sexually motivated murder of a teenage student at a beauty spot.
A man yesterday admitted the sexually motivated murder of a teenage student at a beauty spot.
Ellen Higginbottom, 18, was walking back from college when she was viciously attacked.
The bright teenager was reported missing after failing to return home on June 16.
Her body was found the next day at Orrell Water Park in Wigan, Greater Manchester, and a post-mortem examination found she died from multiple wounds to the neck.

Shaven headed Mark Buckley, 51, of Preston, Lancashire, appeared at Manchester Crown Court where he admitted murder and stealing a laptop and mobile phone.
Judge David Stockdale adjourned the case until next week for sentencing.
Prosecutor Neil Fryman said he would outline the full facts next week, adding: “There was a sexual motivation for this offence and it was premeditated.”

Two others, Dean Speakman and his partner Vicki Calland, both 30 from Billinge, in St Helens, Merseyside, each admitted perverting the course of justice and handling stolen goods.
They received the mobile phone, laptop and property belonging to Miss Higginbottom.
They will be sentenced at a later date.
