Wayne Esmonde asked South Wales Police officers to take down his starey-eyed mugshot
On the run Wayne Esmonde, 35, had his starey-eyed face put on a police Facebook appeal over an alleged assault.
But the picture shows shaven-headed Esmonde posing for the camera looking wide-eyed and staring intently.
It was posted on the South Wales Police Facebook page where it was spotted by self-conscious Esmonde, who asked for officers to take it down.
He wrote on the page: "I am him. Not a very flattering mugshot.
"I'd appreciate it if you'd take this post down. Innocent until proven guilty and all that.

But other Facebook users were quick to mock Esmonde over his bizarre mugshot.

Chris Prosser wrote: "Shouldn't be too hard to find, with eyes like that the whites of them would light up half of South Wales."

Stuart Davies said: "He'll see you coming from miles with lamps like that."
And Tom Rees added: "When the camera man says try not to blink."
