A brother who strangled his sister to death has been found guilty of her murder
Charles Gordon was found guilty of killing Elizabeth Bowe, who was 50, in her flat in St Andrews, Fife, last September.
He had also been accused of raping her but that charge was withdrawn.
Yesterday, Gordon was ordered to serve at least 17 years in prison before being eligible for parole.
Judge John Morris QC told him: “I fix the punishment part of the life sentence at 17 years, but you will not automatically be released after that period. That will be a matter for the parole board.”
The 52-year-old smirked as he was led away to begin his sentence and a member of his family shouted: “I hope you get a razor blading you junkie b******.” Gordon then shouted back: “I’ll see you when I get out.”
