THE Finsbury Park terror suspect’s mother has refused to defend her son’s actions but insists he is not a terrorist.

Darren Osborne’s mother Christine said she screamed in horror when she noticed her son amid television footage of the attack.
Speaking to the Sun, the 72-year-old said: “I know mothers normally defend [their kids].
“But I’m not going to, he has four children and that’s my worry at the moment.”

She added: "This is every mother’s worst nightmare. I’m at my wit’s end. I saw him on TV and recognised him straight away. I just screamed.
“He has issues with mental health and has never given me any clue about having any political leanings or having any concerns about terrorism – none whatsoever.
“My son is no terrorist — he’s just a man with mental issues and I don’t know how to cope with all this.
“As a mum my heart goes out to everyone in Finsbury Park.”
The father of four is currently being held in custody on suspicion of terror offences including attempted murder.
Christine, speaking after police swooped on father-of-four Osborne’s terraced home in Pentwyn, Cardiff, said the suspect’s partner Sarah Andrews had struggled to keep him on the straight and narrow over the years.

Osborne’s former pals remembered him as a man who was routinely involved in violence.
Locals claimed the 47-year-old vowed “to do some damage to Muslims” just a day before the attack.
A neighbour told the newspaper: “He had lived on the estate for a few years. He’s always been a complete c*** but this is really surprising.”
Locals claimed that he was ejected from the town’s Hollybush pub on Saturday night for drunkenly cursing Muslims.

“He was cursing Muslims and saying he would do some damage.”
Another regular at the pub said: “He’s a loud and aggressive person. He’s always shouting the odds if anyone disagrees with him.”
