The delivery truck damaged buildings after getting stuck in a narrow lane in the centre of Bruton, Somerset on Monday bringing travel disruption to the town centre.
The lorry was travelling down St Catherine's Hill towards the High Street shortly before 1.30pm when it became stuck in a particularly narrow part of the road.
It is understood that the impact took out a chunk of a corner of one of the nearby buildings, leaving a pile of rubble.
Police and technicians went to the site and were attempting to tow the vehicle back up the hill.
St Catherine's Hill is one of the main arteries to the town's high street, linking Tolbury Lane and Higher Backway to the high street.
In the past residents of Bruton have complained that sat navigation systems send lorry drivers down the narrow road.

Frustrated people in the town have even put up a sign at the end of the lane saying: "don't try your luck, you'll only get stuck."

Traffic problems cause by the blockage were made worse by roadworks delaying traffic elsewhere in the town.
Police and technicians went to the site and were attempting to tow the vehicle
Town councillor James Hood, said: "The lorry has taken a corner off one of the nearby buildings and brought a lot of rubble down with it too.
"There are plans between the town and county council to put bollards in the road to deter HGV drivers."
Frustrated people in the town have even put up a sign at the end of the lane
John Lewis apologised for the blockage.
A spokeswoman from John Lewis said: "We can confirm that this has now been resolved.
"We're very sorry for the inconvenience this caused to nearby residents and other drivers and are thankful to the rescue service for their swift response."
