The £18 million ride was closed for 30 minutes while engineers re-set the computer system responsible to monitoring the safety sensors.
Two teenage girls lost a leg each and 14 others were injured after safety failings "in the absence of any system" at the Staffordshire theme park on June 2, 2015.
Vicky Balch, then 19, and Leah Washington, then 17, each lost a leg in the crash after being trapped for hours.

Last year a judge fined Merlin Attractions Operations Ltd, which owns Alton Towers, £5 million and branded the theme park "a shambles."
Theme park bosses yesterday (Mon) confirmed the ride was closed as a safety precaution.

An Alton Towers Resort spokesperson said: "At 10.15am, an assisted exit took place in the station when a guest, at the end of their ride, held their harness down during the routine harness release, triggering our sensors.
"The ride then needed to be reset as required by our operating processes and is now re-open."
