ISIS claims responsibility for London terror attack as details of victims emerge
ISLAMIC State has claimed responsibility for the terror attacks that left seven people dead and 21 fighting for their lives in London yesterday evening.
The attacks left seven people dead and more than 20 others seriously injured
The terror group’s Amaq agency said in a statement that the three men who carried out last night’s attack were members of the death cult.
The statement said: “A detachment of Islamic State fighters executed yesterday's London attack.”
Police shot the attackers dead within eight minutes from the first call
The attackers ploughed a van into pedestrians on London Bridge and stabbed others indiscriminately in Borough Market before police shot them dead.
One of the attackers reportedly shouted “this is for Allah” as he knifed a man near a pub.
Theresa May condemned the attack in a speech Sunday outside Downing Street.
More than 20 people are fighting for their lives in hospital after the attack
The Prime Minister said Britain “cannot and must not pretend that things can continue as they are”, and declared “enough is enough”.
Speaking about the attack, he added: “Our priority must be public safety and I will take whatever action is necessary and effective to protect the security of our people and our country.”
Police are still stationed at London Bridge following the attack
Saturday’s incident was the third Islamist terror attack in less than three months.
Rapidly losing territory in Iraq and Syria to an offensive backed by the US-led coalition, ISIS sent out a call on the Telegram messaging app Saturday urging its followers use the holy month of Ramadan to carry out attacks on “Crusaders” with trucks, knives and guns.

The attack comes less than a fortnight after 22-year-old Salman Abedi killed 22 people, including children, at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester Arena with a suicide bomb.
A benefit concert, dedicated to the victims of the Manchester bombing and headlined by Grande, was held in Manchester Sunday.
