A SCHOOLBOY has thanked the heroic strangers who saved his life by lifting a car off him after a sickening crash.

Zishan Islam had life-threatening injuries after being hit and “dragged under” the white Mercedes.
He ran into the road after a spotting a friend on the other side.
Horrified witnesses rushed to help the seven-year-old, lifting the two-tonne vehicle up so paramedics could give him emergency treatment.
And his mother and father paid tribute to the strangers and thanked them for saving their son after the crash on Sunday, May 7.
Father Shamsul, 45, said: “When I got the call, I was shocked. I couldn’t believe it.
“People said it was very serious and he was badly hurt.

“When I saw him in hospital, I was crying, my brain stopped. I couldn’t say anything, I was just crying.
“When the doctor said he would get better, I slowly felt better. The doctor said he was very lucky and very brave.
“The main thing is he didn’t suffer any brain damage, although his wound will take a long time to heal.”

Zishan, who still has to wear a bandage protecting his injuries, has had to undergo skin grafts on his head and still has painful wounds on his side and leg.
Mr Islam added: “We want to say thank you to the people who helped lift the car off him.
“They were very kind, very helpful, very nice and very good.”
The youngster’s mother, Shipa, 30, feinted after rushing to the scene.

She discovered her son was involved after his older brother Jarif, 9, returned to their home in Highfields, Leicester, without Zishan.
The seven-year-old, speaking about the incident said: “I remember being dragged under the car and being in pain.
“I feel that people were helping me by lifting the car so the paramedics could treat me.
“I want to say thank you for helping me."
Leicestershire Police took no action against the driver.
