A YOUNG mother and her six-year-old son are fighting for their lives in hospital following a horrific smash.

It happened after a collision between a Vauxhall Corsa and a Mercedes on the A90 north of Dundee late on Monday afternoon at the Tealing junction.
The woman was taken by helicopter to the city’s Ninewells Hospital following the accident.
Firefighters used cutting gear to free the 31-year-old from the wreckage of her Vauxhall.

The road was closed for two hours while emergency services attended the incident, causing lengthy tailbacks in both directions.
The woman’s two other children, a six-month-old baby and a three-year-old, were unhurt.
Police Scotland are still investigating the incident and have appealed for any witnesses to contact call 101 or speak to any police officer.
