Simon Callander’s words for the emotional mother came as they both joined hundreds of mourners at St Ann’s Square in Manchester yesterday.
The mourners paid tribute to the 22 people killed in Monday’s terror attack at an Ariana Grande concert.
Georgina’s mother has spoken about her attempt to comfort her daughter moments after the blast.
Lesley Callander said: “I was just screaming and shouting at her. I was rubbing her hands, I was rubbing her tummy, I was rubbing her face.
“It was just a flicker of hope that she'd move her hand or move her leg or try and open her eyes a little, just to acknowledge that I was there, just to let me know that she was very, very poorly but she knew that I was there.”
Her father has also described his regret at not being there for Georgina at the time of the attack.

He told ITV: “I should have been there to hold her hand, when she was lying there.”
Georgina was a huge Ariana Grande fan who had been counting down the days to her concert, according to her parents.
Yesterday’s memorial followed Ariana Grande’s announcement that she will be returning to Manchester to play a benefit concert as a tribute to the victims of the attack.
