Boxer dog required life-saving surgery after swallowing a RUGBY ball
A BOXER dog that swallowed a mini rugby ball has undergone emergency life-saving surgery to have the toy removed.
Tinker, a Boxer dog, ate the 20cm mini rugby ball
Owner Anne Crawford didn’t know one-year-old Tinker had wolfed down the 20cm ball.
She only realised something was wrong when her pet started repeatedly vomiting.
After taking the dog to the Inglis Veterinary Hospital in Dunfermline, Fife, she was stunned when the X-ray revealed what had been causing the problem.

Tinker was able to return home after a few days in the pet hospital
Head nurse Denise Docherty said: “Poor Tinker, like many other dogs her age, loves to chew toys and in this case ended up swallowing whole a toy she was given at Christmas.
"It’s possible the toy had been in her stomach for some time.”
Thankfully, Tinker was able to return home after a few days in the pet hospital.
