'Ringleader' in Croydon attack on asylum seeker Reker Ahmed is 17, court told
A 17-YEAR-OLD boy led the mob attack which left a Kurdish asylum seeker fighting for his life, it was alleged yesterday.

The youth, accused of being the “ringleader,” is charged with violent disorder and wounding with intent.
He appeared in court yesterday alongside seven others. A total of 13 people have now been charged with violent disorder following the attack on 17-year-old Reker Ahmed in Croydon, south London, on Friday night.
He suffered a fractured spine, shattered eye socket and bleeding on the brain when he was attacked by a mob of up to 30.
All eight charged were released on conditional bail to appear at Croydon Crown Court on May 2
The eight suspects appeared at Croydon magistrates’ court as a fund in aid of the asylum seeker hit £25,000.
All are charged with violent disorder and live close to the scene of the attack. James Neves, 22, Ben Harman, 20, Liam Neylen, 19, Kyran Evans, 23, and Ellie Leite, 19, appeared with a girl aged 17 and two boys aged 17 and 15, who cannot be named for legal reasons.

Harman is also accused of racially aggravated grievous bodily harm and dangerous driving.
All eight were released on conditional bail to appear at Croydon Crown Court on May 2.
