ONE of Britain's worst paedophiles described by a judge as "nothing short of evil" has died in prison.

Geoffrey Tift, 68, raped and sexually assaulted girls between the ages of five to 15 over a 40-year period across the UK.
The monster began offending in Kent before moving to North Wales, Somerset, Devon and Bristol.
He was convicted of 25 crimes and jailed for 18 years in 2010.

An inquest heard that he became ill in Ashfield Prison, Pucklechurch, Glos.

He had been diagnosed with bronchiectasis and was wheelchair bound since before being jailed.

Tift refused invasive treatment after being given intravenous fluids and antibiotics and died on September 1 last year.
The cause of death was given as a respiratory tract infection, severe bronchiectasis and congestive cardiac failure.
The Prison and Probation Ombudsman said the healthcare he received in prison was equivalent to that of NHS primary care.
A conclusion of natural causes was recorded by assistant Avon coroner Dr Peter Harrowing.
