Brave policeman injured after attempting to save suicidal man trying to take his own life
A POLICE officer has been injured trying to stop a man from killing himself in north Wales.
Road closed in Wrexham, Wales after ongoing incident
Emergency services were called to Ruabon Rd, near the Brandie Brook area of Johnstown in Wrexham, at about 10.20am today.
North Wales Police said in a statement they were called to intervene in an "attempted suicide situation" involving a man in his thirties.
Despite the brave police officer's actions the man at the centre of the situation died in hospital later.
Superintendent Alex Goss said: “All efforts were made to save the man’s life – he was taken to hospital but subsequently died.

“A police officer has sustained injuries in the incident and is receiving treatment in hospital. His injuries are not believed to be serious.
“Emergency services will remain at the scene whilst police carry out further enquiries.
“Ruabon Road is closed in both directions in the vicinity of Moreton Inn.”
There is no further information on the incident in Wrexham at present.
