Man charged with four rapes and robbery carried out on his WEDDING DAY
A BRIDEGROOM has appeared in court charged with four rapes carried out on his wedding day.
Rape suspect Derry McCann is due in court next month
Newlywed Derry Flynn McCann, 28, was arrested following an attack on a 24-year-old woman in Victoria Park in Hackney, northeast London, on Friday January 13.
It is understood the woman was dragged into the bushes and raped after her assailant grabbed her and demanded money.
The attacks are alleged to have been carried out in Hackney's Victoria Park
Scotland Yard confirmed McCann had been charged and appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court last Friday.
He is will next appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court in Redbridge, east London, next month facing the charges along with another of robbery.
Metropolitan Police officers arrested McCann a week after the alleged attacks
According to The Sun, the alleged offences took place on the same day as his wedding, which was held at The Vestry in Bromley-by-Bow, East London.
It is understood McCann has not entered a plea and has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance on February 16.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: “Detectives investigating a rape in Victoria Park on Friday, January 13 have arrested and charged a man.
“Derry McCann, 28, of Portland Court, Hackney, was charged with four counts of rape and one charge of robbery.”
