MICHAEL GOVE has backed Theresa May to develop a working relationship with Donald Trump before he took a furious swipe at Nigel Farage.

The conservative politician supported Theresa May for planning to meet Donald Trump after his inauguration.
Former Secretary of State for Justice Gove reiterated how important Britain’s relationship was with the US before he targeted Nigel Farage with a bitter remark.
Speaking on Sky News, the 49-year-old politician said that he expected the Prime Minister and the future American President to have a good working relationship.
He said: “It is entirely appropriate for the British Prime Minister and the American President, whoever they are, whatever parties they are, to have a good working relationship.

“That doesn’t mean that they have to be figures in a romance, it simply means that they have to manage the relationships which are deep and enduring between these two countries in the best interests of both countries.
“It seems to be entirely appropriate for the Prime Minister should visit the President-elect after he’s installed in office.
“And I suspect that meeting will concentrate on making sure that the relationship stays in a business like fashion.”
The conservative MP then turned his attention to ridicule former Ukip leader Mr Farage who has a close relationship with Mr Trump.

Mr Farage has already accepted an invitation to Mr Trumps inauguration on January 20 in Washington.
The Leave campaigner was invited to speak at a Trump rally in Mississippi following his success in leading Britain to leave the European Union in the referendum.
Next Michael Gove mocked the MEP for his close relationship with billionaire Mr Trump, claiming that he was only invited over for a quick photo opportunity.
He said: “Well I think that Nigel Farage, because he had endorsed Donald Trump during the referendum was invited in for a friendly cup of tea and the chance to take a few selfies, and that’s fair enough.”
