St Andrews best golf course in the world once again
THE internationally renowned "Home of Golf" has been crowned the finest course on the planet for the third year in a row at the 2016 World Golf Awards.

The Old Course at St Andrews - also judged best in Scotland and in Europe - has hosted 29 Open Championships, more than any other links in the UK.
The chief executive of St Andrews Links Trust, Euan Loudon, said: "We're delighted to see the world's most famous links recognised with this prestigious award. It recognises every aspect of the memorable experiences we strive to deliver at the 'Home of Golf' on a daily basis.

The seaside course, which dates back to the 15th century, has played host to some of the sport's most memorable moments.
The last Open Championship to be held at the Old Course, in 2015, was claimed by American Zach Johnson.
