POLICE have launched a murder investigation after a 26-year-old man was shot in his car while sitting at a junction.

The man was attacked just before midnight on Tuesday and rushed to a nearby hospital where he later died of his injuries.
Police cordoned off the scene of the fatal shooting in the Scotland Street area of Glasgow and remained there this morning while they carried out enquiries.
The man was shot while sitting in an Audi car.
Police have confirmed they are treating his death as murder.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "At 11.55pm on Tuesday, a 26-year-old man was shot while sitting in his Audi vehicle in Scotland Street, Glasgow.
"He was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he died a short time later.

Both ends of Scotland Street were closed off today while forensic officers investigated the area.
A police van was seen parked outside the street's multi-storey car park while an officer was standing outside the nearby Shields Road subway station.
The closures caused chaos in the area for commuters during the morning rush hour.

The young father's girlfriend Linda Corrigan paid an emotional tribute to him on her Facebook page today.
She said: "Devastated, heartbroken. Rest in peace Euan, Daddy. You'll always have a place in my heart.
"I promise you I will keep care of our daughter. I don't know how I'm going to tell our baby daughter this horrible news.

Linda posted a picture of Euan with the their young daughter, thought to be named Poppy, while changing her profile picture to an image of the three of them together.
Friends of Euan posted tributes to him on their own social media pages.
Chelsea Asson posted: "I have honestly woken up to the worst news. Total gentleman taken away from us all far too soon.
