Romanian shot dead in hometown days after arriving in the UK
A FOREIGN national was shot dead just two days after arriving in the UK, police said.

Ionut Lazar, 28, was killed after “a number of men” forced their way into a home in Shepherd's Bush, west London, Scotland Yard announced.
The Metropolitan Police Force said an 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder yesterday and was being held in a west London police station.
The London Ambulance Brigade called police to the home in Askew Road at around 2.40am on Saturday.
He arrived in the country just two days before his death
Ionut Lazar, a Romanian national, was pronounced dead at the scene and a post-mortem examination revealed the cause was a bullet wound to the chest.
A Met Police spokesman said: “He arrived in the country just two days before his death.”
Detective Inspector Domenica Catino, of the Met's Homicide and Major Crime Command, made an appeal for witnesses earlier this week.

The policewoman said: “We now know that a number of men forced entry to this residential address before attacking the victim and fatally shooting him dead.”
