Horror as Stanley knife blade found in poppy collection
POPPY appeal fundraisers were lucky not to be left with deep cuts on their hands after a razor-sharp blade was found among their cash.
Poppy appeal organiser David Taylor said no one can know if it was done deliberately or not
Volunteers sifting through donation boxes found the Stanley Knife blade last night when the coins were being scooped up by hand and put into a counting machine.
Luckily, it was spotted by an eagle-eyed volunteer before anyone was harmed.
It's just lucky nobody was hurt. Who walks around town with a blade in their hands, or pockets?
The blade was discovered in one of the buckets from a shopping centre stall in Gravesend, Kent.
Gravesend Poppy appeal organiser David Taylor said: “We can't ever know if this is was done deliberately or accidentally.
