Paedophile OAP shopped to the police by his son had 2,000 indecent images on PC
A PAEDOPHILE pensioner was shopped by his own son who caught him looking at indecent images of children, a court heard.
Graham Hellewell pleaded guilty to possessing indecent pictures of children
Graham Hellewell, 73, was viewing the inappropriate content on his computer when his son walked into the room.
Suspicious of his father's behaviour, he later looked at the contents of a grey USB stick he'd seen in the computer, where he found the indecent images.
Prosecutor Stephen Sparkes told Chelmsford Magistrates Hellewell had closed the screen when his son entered the lounge of their family home.

Mr Sparkes said: "He came downstairs before 6am in the morning and looking into the lounge he saw his dad looking at the computer and said he could see a woman's face on the screen and his dad closed the screen.
He could see indecent images of children were held on it
"He saw a grey USB stick in the computer and later found it behind the computer and looked on it, because he was concerned by what he thought may have been on it. He could see indecent images of children were held on it."
Mr Sparkes told the court how in the early hours of the morning on July 8 police arrived at the house in Chelmsford, Essex, and carried out a search.
Hellewell's son found a hidden USB stick with inappropriate material on it
They found more than 2,000 indecent images of children across two USB drives, a USB stick and on the computer.
The majority were the lowest level of seriousness, category C, but there were six images classified in the most serious category A and 13 category B.
Today, Hellewell pleaded guilty to seven counts of making indecent photographs of children and one count of possessing indecent photographs of children.
He will be sentenced on November 8.
