Marmite superman has no fears of shortage as he builds stockpile
A MARMITE superfan says that he is not worried about Unilever's pricing row with Tesco - because he has a stockpile of the "love it or hate it" spread.
Marmite superfan Philip Walker is stocking up on the spread after the Unilever and Tesco price row
Philip Walker eats Marmite every day and has 12 branded items in pride of place in his kitchen, with replica versions of each of the special edition jars and more standard Marmite in the cupboard.
Mr Walker, 43, from Exeter, Devon, said: "I have quite a good stock so it won't stopping me going to Tesco.
"I am more angry at Unilever than I am at Tesco. It seems Unilever is using Brexit as an excuse to hold Tesco customers to ransom."
I put it on pretty much anything
The St John Ambulance regional manager, who eats Marmite on a crumpet for breakfast and on a slice of toast when he gets in from work, says he first discovered his love of Marmite in his mid-teens .
Mr Walker, who also loves the spread on rusks aimed at babies, said: "When I was young I hated it, as I got a bit older I started eating it. I ate it and thought I need to have this.
"I put it on pretty much anything. I love Marmite chocolate. I put it in chilli con carne, on crumpets, on toast. Even on Farley's Rusks"

The Marmite fan's collection includes Guinness Marmite, Marmite Gold, Marmite XO, Maa'mite - which was released in 2012 to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, and even a knitted jar.
One of his most prized collectables is a final bar of Very Peculiar Marmite chocolate, which was part of the 2010 Christmas gift range and is no longer on sale.
Many Marmite fans were distraught with the news
Marmite is no longer available to buy online from Tesco
He added: "I love [Marmite] because it's very British. You can eat it with everything. I look at my kitchen shelf every day. I also have a Marmite kitchen clock and like any good Marmite fan, a Marmite cookbook."
Mr Walker once made a successful Marmite cake from a recipe promoted by the brand on Facebook and also always visits a pasty shop in Cornwall, which is the only place he has seen serving a cheese and Marmite pasty.
