PA to Broadmoor psychiatrist who treated Yorkshire Ripper found dead in village home
THE personal assistant to a Broadmoor psychiatrist who treated Yorkshire Ripper Peter Sutcliffe has been found dead in a village home.
Jackie Pattende was found dead at a house in Berkshire on Sunday
Jackie Pattenden, 53, was discovered at a house in Crowthorne, Berkshire, on Sunday.
A 55-year-old man who was found at the property with stab wounds was taken to hospital in a critical condition, and was later arrested on suspicion of murder.
A spokesman for West London Mental Health Trust said: "We are aware of this tragic incident involving a member of our staff.
Ms Pattenden was a PA to former Broadmoor's clinical director to Dr Kevin Murray
"Her colleagues have been informed and our condolences go to her family and friends. We now have to wait for the police to conclude their investigations."
Ms Pattenden was a personal assistant to Dr Kevin Murray, former clinical director at the mental health site and one of the psychiatrists who treated serial killer Sutcliffe.
Police have launched a murder investigation
Detective Chief Inspector Ailsa Kent, from Thames Valley Police, said: "A murder investigation has begun following the discovery of a woman's body in a house in Crowthorne.
"Although we are in the early stages of conducting inquiries, this is thought to have been an isolated incident and it is believed the victim was known to the offender.
"I would like to appeal for any witnesses who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in that area at around the time of the incident."
