Jet2 also handed out 75 year-long bans to aggressive passengers, whose often drunken behaviour disrupted the flights of more than 60,000 people.

More than half of the cases were alcohol-related and led to 116 people being refused return travel.
We take a zero tolerance approach to disruptive behaviour
Phil Ward, managing director of Jet2, said: “Our figures show that the number of disruptive passenger incidents has continued to increase over the past two years.
"These incidents are not only a negative experience for a large number of people, they are costly and not without consequences.
Drunk passengers prompt airport alcohol sales review
More than half of the cases were alcohol-related and led to 116 people being refused return travel
“As a family friendly airline carrying millions of holidaymakers, with over 2,000 crew, Jet2 has led the way in tackling this issue through our Onboard Together campaign, which takes a zero tolerance approach to disruptive behaviour.
“Most recently we announced a ban on the sale of alcohol on board our flights before 8am as many of these issues are caused by passengers consuming alcohol prior to flight or illicitly once airborne.
“We call upon airports to adopt the same rule as well as introducing tamper-proof bags for the sale of alcohol at duty free shops.”
