Police arrest man on Cardiff street on suspicion of Islamist terrorism
THE police are continuing to investigate the case of a 33-year-old man who was arrested by Scotland Yard’s counter-terrorism command on suspicion of terrorism offences.

Two houses in the area are being searched, at least one of which is residential and linked to the arrested man.
The man is being questioned a central London police station on suspicion of the commission, preparation and instigation of terrorist acts under section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000.
Under the provision “a constable may arrest without a warrant a person whom he reasonably suspects to be a terrorist”.
The arrest was the result of a planned action by the Met's Counter Terrorism Unit
Police have been searching two houses in the city, following the arrest on Thursday afternoon.
There was police activity in the Grangetown and Riverside areas of Cardiff on Thursday afternoon but Metropolitan Police refused to confirm if it was linked to the arrest.
Police said the arrest was planned and was as a result of an investigation by the Met's Counter Terrorism Command supported by the Wales Extremism and Counter Terrorism Unit.
