MAGISTRATES came under fire from a police chief yesterday after a female yob facing sentence for an 11th violent attack on an officer was spared jail.
After her 11th attack on police Walker has been given her final warning
After Dawn Walker, 34, was given one “last chance”, a Police Federation chairman said: “We are not here to be her personal punch-bag.”
Mother-of-three Walker, from Bacup, Lancs, has repeatedly dodged prison for assaulting police in drunken, foulmouthed rampages.
In her latest attack she called PC Thomas Cock a “fat, bearded ****” before head-butting him after he found her fighting outside a pub.
Walker faced up to six months in jail after admitting assault and being drunk and disorderly at Burnley magistrates court last Friday.
But she was let off with eight weeks suspended for a year and ordered to go on a nine-month alcohol treatment programme.
The court heard she had 17 previous convictions – 10 of them attacks on police.

Just six weeks before the attack on PC Cock, Walker sank her teeth into a an officer’s face when asked for a breath test after a drunken car crash.
The prosecutor said that the mum-of-three likes a drink and hate the police

Rachel Baines, chairman of Lancashire Police Federation, said: “I cannot comprehend how this violent individual has once again been allowed to walk free.
This sentence is wholly inadequate. There is absolutely no deterrent.”
Magistrates’ chairman Philip Homer told Walker: “If there are any further offences of this nature, I cannot see any reason why you would not be sent to custody.”
