Murder probe launched after Masterchef contestant found dead
POLICE have launched a murder inquiry after the death of a former Masterchef contestant.

The body of accomplished cook Helen Barker, 38, was found by officers when they were called to her home in Trowbridge, Wilts.
Post mortem examinations have proved inconclusive and further pathological tests are expected to be carried out to determine a cause of death.

A 78-year-old man, who was known to Ms Barker, was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and actual bodily harm.
Police said the pensioner, who is thought to live alone and does not have children, had now been released on bail.
Helen’s family paid tribute in a statement which said: “The whole family have been left devastated by Helen’s untimely death.
“She was much loved and will be greatly missed by us all."

The statement continued: “She was a bright young woman who, in addition to her attainment of a BSc degree in Dental Technology at the University of Wales Institute Cardiff, was a talented artist and an accomplished cook, having appeared on the Masterchef television programme.
“It will be difficult to come to terms with her loss, but this is being aided by the kind words and messages of support we have received and for which we are very grateful.
“We would like to kindly ask that the media allow us time to grieve in peace.”
