A man who was at the 'March for Europe' is seen stealing the comedian’s pink beret near Downing Street, London as Mr Izzard shouts: "Give that back!"
Police are seen chasing the man, who was dressed all in black, and tackling him to the floor.
Despite wearing high heels, Mr Izzard joined in the chase as police caught the man and tore back his beret while his attacker was pinned to the floor.

Mr Izzard then dusted off the headgear and placed it back on his head before marching to Parliament Square.
Moments later he took to the stage, commending the police for apprehending the man who grabbed his hat.
When Mr Izzard left the stage, police officers sealed the brightly-coloured beret in an evidence bag.

It came after the comedian claimed Brexit has caused "despair" in the world as thousands marched on the capital.
The 'March for Europe' rallies have been held across the country in London, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Oxford, and Cambridge, to demand a pause in the Brexit process.
Campaigners want to stop the Government from formally invoking Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty which will trigger the two year deadline to leave the EU.
