Many women MPs on the opposition benches claim supporters of the embattled leftwing leader have unleashed a torrent of abuse at MPs they do not perceive as loyal to Mr Corybn.
And 44 female MPs have penned a letter to the 67-year-old warning him that his followers have not learned the lessons from the tragic murder of MP Jo Cox last month.

The letter says: “Rape threats, death threats, smashed cars and bricks through windows are disgusting and totally unacceptable in any situation... Jeremy, this is being done in your name.”
They added: “This is acknowledged by all factions yet the simple words of condemnation offered in response are inadequate.
Jeremy Corbyn has a passionate set of supporters
“We expect swift and tangible action against those who commit such acts.”
The letter also calls on Mr Corbyn to make three pledges.
It states: “The leader should make an unequivocal statement declaring his support for all MPs, particularly women, and clearly condemning campaigning outside MPs’ offices, surgeries etc.
There have been notable incidents of abuse against Labour women MPs.
Vicky Foxcroft, a Labour whip, was forced to barricade herself in her South London office recently after a man threatened to “kick the f***” out of her if she did not support Mr Corbyn.
And Birmingham MP Jess Phillips, a critic of the leader, recently handed over 96 pages of abusive threats that she received on social media to the Labour Party.
