London Tube stations evacuated in rush hour
COMMUTERS faced "carnage" after being evacuated from Bank and Monument Tube stations in central London this evening.

As heavy rains have caused havoc for commuters trying to get home, the interlinked Monument and Bank Tube stations were also evacuated.
Transport for London closed the busy Tube stations at 5.45pm because of a fire alert and they re-opened at 6.30pm after calling firefighters.
A spokesman told the Express Online that there was no actual fire.
Panicked commuters were also evaucated from the Tube stations yesterday evening.

Other anxious commuters have tweeted about their concerns with one Twitter user saying that the whole of London "would grind to a halt" because Bank Station has closed.
Dario Bragoli tweeted: "How can Monument and Bank station be evacuated AGAIN for a supposed "emergency"! You done this yesterday at this time as well !! @TfL"
Monument Station also closed this morning because of heavy flooding as the heavens opened on the day of the EU referendum.

Thousands of commuters use the Tube stations to get home
This morning, Transport for London, said: "We apologise to customers whose journeys have been disrupted this morning. A small number of our stations have been closed or part-closed due to flooding, caused by the heavy rain. We’re working to clear the water as quickly as possible so that services can return to normal. Passengers are advised to check the TfL website and our social media feeds for the latest information."
Twitter user Amanda Jacks said: "And if it's chaos at Waterloo, it's absolute carnage at Bank station. London v Mother Nature and she's winning hands down."
Joe Phelan said: "Well done to #BankStation for somehow setting on fire during the worst rain I've seen for ages."

Transport chaos has been widespread today mainly because of heavy rainfall.
Earlier today train operators urged commuters to get home as early as possible becuase of chaotic rush hour travel warnings.
Flooding has caused chaos in Battersea, South London as well
Flooding has hit Circle, Bakerloo, District, DLR, Hammersmith and City, Metropolitan, Waterloo and City, and overground lines.
Many commuters are still trying to battle the adverse weather to get to a polling station and vote.
