Fire alert at a London Underground station
PASSENGERS are facing rush hour delays after a fire alert at Old Street station in London.
Rush hour passengers face delays this Monday morning
Trains are being cancelled, delayed or diverted because of a what us believed to have been a problen with overheating cables next to the overland track at Old Street Tube station.
National Rail has tweeted: "Passengers may use Abellio Greater Anglia services between Herford East and London Liverpool Street."
Old Street station is a central London National Rail and London Underground station at the junction of Old Street and City Road just north of the City of London.

Great Northern tweeted: "Due to a fire next to the track at Old Street services rnning through this station may be cancelled, delayed or diverted."
At 6:36am, TFL tweeted that Old Street Station would be closed while they responded to a fire alert.
Commuters are likely to be delayed by the fire
Twitter account Railway Info tweeted that there would be no trains until 9am from Moorgate to Finsbury Park due to the problem.
Commuters have tweeted their frustrations about the situation this morning, Loredana Pozzuto said: "Deadline day and no trains are going to Old street some serious hyperventilation is taking place."

A spokeswoman for Transport for London said: "There was a fire alert on the Network Rail side of Old Street station at 6:22am. We had to close the London Underground side just temporarily until 7am."
