Isabel Gentry, a student at St Brendan’s Sixth Form College in Bristol, died last Friday while she was preparing for her AS papers.
Friends have posted tributes on social media to Izzy, remembering her bubbly personality.
Ben Flinton wrote: "Absolutely devastated to hear of the sudden passing of Izzy Gentry.
One of the nicest, funniest girls I'll ever meet
"One of the nicest, funniest girls I'll ever meet.
“Far too young to be taken from us - what a cruel world we live in.
“Lots of love to her family at this horrible time."
Meningitis charity vows to 'keep fighting' for vaccine
Chloe Hughes said her friend was “taken way too soon”.
She added: “God really does take the best ones, rest in peace you gorgeous girl.”
Corey Stevens wrote: “She was one of the people who made our year 11 great.”

Some of Izzy’s friends are fundraising for Meningitis Now with a charity cycle ride in August.
They plan to ride more than 300 miles from Bristol to the Northumberland National Park.
An inquest will be held next week.
