BREAKING: Man charged with two counts of attempted murder after pregnant woman stabbed
DETECTIVES have charged a man with two counts of attempted murder and attempted child destruction after a pregnant woman was stabbed.
A woman was left fighting for her life after being stabbed
Babur Karamat Raja, aged 41 from Sutton Coldfield, has been remanded in custody over an attack on a woman in the area.
Raja was also charged with assault and possession of a knife in a public place.
A 40-year-old woman was left fighting for her life after she was stabbed on Friday.
She was rushed to hospital where her baby girl was born.

The woman is described as being in a stable condition and the child is said to be doing well.
The family of the victim said: "We’d all like to express our heartfelt thanks to everybody who helped her on Friday afternoon. Your fearlessness and selfless actions saved both their lives and we are overwhelming grateful to you all.
"We have no further comment to make and we’d ask you to respect our privacy at this difficult time."
