Osborne’s doctor brother admits sex with patient
THE psychiatrist brother of Chancellor George Osborne has admitted having sex with a vulnerable patient while she was under his care.
Adam Osborne admitted having sex with a patient in his care
Dr Adam Osborne, who had previously been suspended by the General Medical Council, said he had engaged in an “inappropriate” emotional and sexual relationship with the woman, despite being her psychiatrist at the time.
The woman, referred to as Patient A, had been under Dr Osborne’s care between February 2011 and late 2014 and had a history of mental health problems.
He admits that he knew, or ought reasonably to have known, that the woman was a vulnerable patient because of her history of mental ill health
In 2010 the Chancellor’s younger brother was suspended from practising medicine for six months for writing fraudulent prescriptions while working as a psychiatry trainee at Wythenshawe Hospital, Manchester.
The GMC had found that Dr Osborne had “behaved dishonestly” by prescribing drugs for a girlfriend and family member, as well as trying to obtain anti-psychotic medication for a cocaine-addicted escort girl he had been seeing while his partner was away.
The tribunal said the misconduct, which related to incidents between June 2006 and May 2008, impaired his fitness to practise.

Dr Osborne, who qualified as a doctor in 2004, did not attend a hearing yesterday of the medical practitioners tribunal service in Manchester.
The hearing formally opens today and is expected to last 10 days. The tribunal will decide whether Dr Osborne is fit to practise.
Adam Osborne also admitted to sending threatening emails to his patient
He admits that he knew, or ought reasonably to have known, that the woman was a vulnerable patient because of her history of mental ill health.
Mr Osborne also admits that between February 14, 2015, and February 24, 2015, he sent threatening emails to Patient A, trying to get her to withdraw her complaint.
