Car theft suspect quizzed after a father is flung into air in hit and run horror crash
Police were questioning a 31-year-old man yesterday in connection with an horrific hit-and-run crash in which a pedestrian was hurled into the air like a rag doll.

The suspect was arrested after CCTV footage of Andy Payne being mowed down by a stolen car and left for dead circulated on the internet.
Police said a Brighton resident was held on suspicion of dangerous driving, causing injury.
He was also being questioned about alleged aggravated vehicle taking and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
Officers also released a woman on bail after questioning her about attempting to pervert the course of justice.
Mr Payne, 53, was crossing a side street in Brighton’s Kemptown district two weeks ago when he was struck by a Fiat 500 at speed.
The father-of-three from Hove, near Brighton, was flung over the bonnet and left lying unconscious in the road as the car accelerated away.

Mr Payne suffered a head injury but onlookers were amazed that someone struck with such force had survived.
Yesterday, his wife Lisa, 49, said he could not remember the crash but added: “He’s getting better slowly. He’s not too bad. He doesn’t remember anything.
“He got home from hospital last Tuesday – he’s getting there.”
Sergeant Dan Pitcher said: “We know the CCTV was very shocking but almost three million people watched it. We had 16,000 comments on Facebook alone.”
