'It's horrible' JK Rowling reveals she has been burgled twice
HARRY Potter author JK Rowling has revealed she has been burgled TWICE by criminals - describing the experience is "horrible".
Writer JK Rowling has revealed she was burgled twice in sympathy Tweet to crime writer
The revelation came in a sympathy message to another victim, fellow writer Val McDermid, whose Stockport home was targeted by thieves over the weekend.
The best-selling crime author took Ms McDermid, 60, Tweeted: "If the gobs****s who burgled my house and stole my car at the weekend are on Twitter - I hope 2016 is as shitty as you deserve."
Ms McDermid is currently on a book tour in the US and said her partner and son had been left to deal with the burglary.
The thieves made off with her black Audi A6 estate and her son's Xbox.

Weirdest thing the burglars stole -- the elderly Dyson from the cupboard under the stairs.

Aye, we're all fine. I'm in US, so it started with 'Why is the car not in the drive?' Luckily I have a great partner https://t.co/4DIwzDlXmB

@valmcdermid @stvharry You *were* being moderate! Really hope you're ok? It's happened to me twice and it's horrible.

It's happened to me twice and it's horrible
In response to Ms McDermid's tweets, JK Rowling revealed her experiences with the invasive crime.
She wrote: "You *were* being moderate! Really hope you're ok? It's happened to me twice and it's horrible."
Ms Rowling has spoken in the past of her heartbreak after her mother's jewellery was stolen from her home just months after her death.
She said she was left "devastated" when burglars broke into her Manchester flat when she was 25, stealing jewellery her mother had left her and her own charm bracelet.
Ms McDermid replied: "I'm fine, thanks. I'm actually on tour in the US so I got the, 'Darling, why isn't the car in the drive?'
"Luckily we seem to have had relatively neat burglars. One broken window, nothing trashed, just messy.
"It's cr** all round. What's worst for me is that I'm away, partner and kid having to deal with it."
Scottish writer was in America when her home was targeted by thieves
A number of people on the social media site sent messages of support to Ms McDermid, including the Scottish First Minister.
Nicola Sturgeon posted: "Sorry to hear this. Hope everyone ok X"
And Ms McDermid responded: "Thanks. Nobody hurt, nothing taken that can't be replaced. Just sorry I'm not there to deal with the crap myself."
Twitter users also sent out a plea for people to contact police if they spotted Ms McDermid's car.
