Commuters in panic as Liverpool Street Station evacuated
PANIC erupted this morning as one of London's main transport hubs was evacuated after an alarm sounded.

Rush hour commuters dashed from the bustling building as an alarm suddenly sounded at 8.52am.
Some travellers feared there was a terror alert prompting a wave of worried Tweets to circulate on Twitter.

However, a spokesman for British Transport Police, tasked with the safety of train stations, said the evacuation was caused by a false alarm.
The spokesman said: "A fire alarm went off at 8.52am this morning and the station was evacuated.
"It was a false alarm and nothing of concern."
