Commuter chaos as London stations evacuated and train lines shut down
LONDONERS have been hit by rush hour chaos following reports of a person laying on a major train line and a Tube station evacuated.
Commuters have been hit by a perfect storm of disruption today
Trains were stopped between London Bridge and Charing Cross because of the apparent trespass while the Jubilee line was also closed due to a signal failure.
The Underground line has been suspended from Waterloo to Canary Wharf.
A spokesman for National Rail said of the train line incident: "Emergency services are dealing with an incident between Waterloo East and Charing Cross which causing disruption to journeys between London Bridge and London Charing Cross until at least 10am."
Chaos spilled over to surrounding stations due to overcrowding.
That caused Monument Tube to close.
The major transport hub at Bank station was also suffering from huge congestion.
The Dockland Light Railway also has overcrowding.
