We're stuck here for a while: Workman tar round cars
TWO drivers found themselves in a sticky situation when workmen tarred round their cars.
The cars were stranded amongst the new tar
Residents had been warned that contractors would be laying a new road surface.
But the owner of a BMW 6 Series had accidentally left his car keys at his girlfriend’s home 300 miles away and could not move it.
A Skoda Octavia was also left in the street in Middlesbrough.
The BMW owner, who asked not to be named, said he only received the warning letter 36 hours before when he returned home by train from Kent.
Another car stuck within the new road surface
He said “I tried to phone the person named on the letter three times but he never rang back.”
He joked at least he now has his own parking bay until the workmen return to finish the road.
But his car will have to be valeted to remove asphalt flecks.
A Middlesbrough Council spokesman said its contractors offered to winch up the BMW but said the owner declined.
