Malaysian mountain girl Eleanor Hawkins returns home
THE British backpacker who posed topless on a sacred Malaysian mountain is due to arrive at Heathrow Airport early this morning - much to her family's relief.
Eleanor Hawkins is expected to arrive to the UK this morning
Eleanor Hawkins, 23, flew from Kuala Lumpur airport following a three-day-stint in prison and paying a £860 fine after pleading guilty to “committing an obscene act in public”.
The aeronautical engineering graduate was one of 10 Westerners who stripped off for photos at the peak of Mount Kinabalu. She risked being locked up for three months after angering locals who blamed the group’s behaviour for the Malaysian earthquake that killed 18.

We’re totally supportive of her
Before boarding her flight to the UK, Eleanor, who was in custody until Wednesday, told reporters at Kuala Lumpur that she was excited to get home.
At the local Kota Kinabalu airport in Borneo, she was booed and jeered by locals before making the treacherous journey home. A woman believed to be a consular official accompanied her back to the UK.

Her family were at the airport to pick her up. They are expected to arrive home to the Derbyshire village of Draycott by lunch time. Her Father Timothy recently said: “We’ve spoken to her a couple of times briefly since her court appearance and she’s OK.
“We’re totally supportive of her.”
Dutchman Dylan Snel (23) was also arrested, but he was reunited with family this morning
