House of Horrors: Shock pics show squalid home so neglected no one noticed ROTTING CORPSE
DESCRIBED by a judge as "absolutely disgusting", this is the house of horrors where a CORPSE was discovered rotting upstairs.
Police and council officers faced an overpowering stench when they entered the house
The body, the son of the occupants, could have been there for up to a month.
It was only discovered when neighbours called the authorities after noticing dead flies on the windows of the property.
When officers arrived at the filthy home in Merseyside to an overpowering stench, one quipped: "Have you got a dead body upstairs?"
As they made their way upstairs that light-hearted comment proved true as they came across a doorway surrounded by thousands of insects.
The gruesome find of the decomposing body resulted in a trial at Liverpool Crown Court, where the daughter of the occupants was convicted of neglect.

For any mother to bring their children in that circumstance defies belief
She was found to have regularly taken her children aged four and five to the revolting house, despite social services warning her not to because of the conditions.
Sarah Holt, prosecuting, said: “Every day she was going in and out of the property with her two boys.
“Social services had done their best to persuade the defendant that it was in her, and her children’s, best interests not to be at the house.”
On seeing photos of the house at Knowsley, Judge Stephen Everett described the conditions as “absolutely disgusting”.
Handing the defendant an 18-month community order on Friday, he said: “We will never know in the days or weeks following your brother’s death why nobody did anything.
The court heard the homeowners were hoarders
“He lay there in that bedroom and the smell was indescribable.
“For any mother to bring their children in that circumstance defies belief. You failed to see something that everyone else could, except the three of you.”
He added: "The home was in a disgusting state. You described them yourself as hoarders. Even without the tragic circumstance of your brother’s death, the reality is that the house was not a place where young children should be.
“You lost all sense of responsibility to your children.”
The mother was said to bring her children to the house every day
Charges of concealing a dead body against the mother-of-two and the two occupants of the house - none of who can be named for legal reasons - were dropped.
Ms Holt, who described how the homeowner nearly fell down the stairs when the body of her son was found, said the court could shed no light on the circumstances of the death.
“It’s not possible to say when he died and certainly not possible to say how he died," she said.
“His former girlfriend in Scotland said she last had contact with him a month before his body was found.”
The court heard the children are currently living with guardians.
