Dambusters bouncing bomb sight sold for £41,500 at auction
A WOODEN bomb sight thought to be the only remaining one used in the Dambusters raid on Nazi Germany has sold at auction for £41,500.

The mahogany fixture had been expected to sell for £25,000.
It was among a series of items connected to the 1943 bombing raid which fetched a total of £75,000 on Tuesday.
The sight was up for sale with a map light and a parallelogram, which raised £5,350.
Marbles used by the inventor Barnes Wallis to test his bouncing bomb sold for £27,200.

Auctioneer Jonathan Humbert said there had been international interest in the memorabilia, put up for auction at Towcester, Northamptonshire.
The items were all sold to private buyers.
Mr Humbert said: “The interest we have had in these items is testament to the bravery of the men who risked their lives.
“These historical items have really captured the imagination and I am delighted that the auction has met with such resounding success.”
