Aspirin a day keeps cancer away: Daily dose advised to cut risk of killer disease
ALL healthy people should take an aspirin every day after they turn 50 to protect against cancer, experts revealed yesterday.
The researchers say that a low-dose “baby aspirin” should become a “daily habit” to reduce the risk of developing the killer disease.
Taking aspirin daily looks to be the most important thing
Their advice came after a study at Queen Mary, University of London’s Centre for Cancer Prevention.
It said that if everyone in the UK aged 50 to 65 took aspirin for 10 years, 130,357 cancer deaths could be avoided over two decades.
Professor Jack Cuzick, head of the centre, said: “Taking aspirin daily looks to be the most important thing we can do to reduce cancer after stopping smoking and reducing obesity.”
