Victims applaud as OAP conman gets 9 years
A ROGUE trader who scammed elderly residents out of more than £105,000 has been jailed for nine years.
Paul Gaffney, 51, of Cosham, Hampshire, approached vulnerable people on their doorstep pretending to sell services as a home repairman – including his next-door neighbour.

But he failed to carry out work properly on roofs, boilers and windows.

Gaffney pleaded guilty at Portsmouth Crown Court to a total of 20 charges. Victims applauded as he was sent to jail.
